Banana Point (Intermediate & Advanced)
📍 Distance from Wave Chaser: ~15 minutes drive
Don’t let the name fool you—Banana Point has nothing to do with fruit, but rather the nearby village, which is famous for its banana plantations. This right-hand point break is one of the most user-friendly waves in the region, offering long, peeling rides that allow surfers to practice turns, cutbacks, and flow.
On a good day, Banana Point can provide rides of up to 300 meters, giving intermediate surfers plenty of room to improve their technique. The wave works best on a medium to overhead swell, and while both low and high tides are surfable, lower tides tend to offer the cleanest conditions. A few scattered rocks in the lineup require awareness, but overall, it’s a relatively safe and forgiving wave.
One of the best things about Banana Point is the relaxed vibe—it’s a great place to enjoy a mellow surf session while soaking in the stunning coastline views. Plus, it’s a favorite spot for surf photographers, thanks to its picturesque backdrop and long, stylish rides.
Banana Point is where you come to perfect your style. Long rides, smooth sections—it’s a dream wave for any surfer.
